A Mega Signing At Books Of Wonder

With summer on the horizon and BEA (Book Expo of America) just around the corner, publishers and authors alike are falling all over themselves to promote their books. New York seems to be the hub where signings happen often, though one very special event takes place once a year and we at YA got to go behind-the-scenes and take photos at the ‘Our No-Foolin’ Mega-Signing at Books of Wonder. ‘Our No-Foolin’ takes place at the famous ‘shop around the corner’ bookstore Books of Wonder in downtown Manhattan.

Walking into Books of Wonder is a transporting experience—it felt as though I was transported right into a book. This month, the theme of the store seemed to be that of OZ, based on the bestselling series by L. Frank Baum and the new Disney film OZ: The Great and Powerful. Once transported, Author David Levithan introduced the event and the signing commenced.

‘ONF’ is part of NYC Teen Author Festival, a week’s worth of notable authors in the Young Adult world, which David started a few years back. Levithan is the author of many books, his most prominent being Boy Meets Boy along with his highly anticipated Two Boys Kissing coming in July.

Here’s some photos we took while we schmoozed the crowd:
