Casting news from Young Adult Magazine

It would seem that casting news for Young Adult Hollywood revolves around just a few hot and very in-demand names, and what a busy bunch they are! But because things change in showbiz faster than you can say ‘May the Force be with you!’ the names on that list are changing all the time. So to that end, we here at YA Mag will undertake the hefty task of keeping you up to date each month on who’s playing what, who’s not, and who should. The roles and stars everyone can’t stop talking about are all here…

Adam Driver imageFirst thing’s first. If you somehow haven’t heard, the only non-speculative rumors to be coming from the Star Wars camp is this: Adam Driver (or Sackler of Girls fame) is being heavily considered for the Vader-like villain of Episode VII. With a new draft of the script ready to go, there were just some scheduling snafus to be worked out between Adam’s shoot for Girls season 4 and the big film shoot, but it looks like things are moving along…

Fathers and Daughters is getting quite the well-rounded cast, with the addition of Haley Bennett (from Marley & Me) to a team featuring Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Paul, Octavia Spencer, Diane Kruger and Quvenzhané Wallis. The film centers on a successful NYC novelist (Crowe) raising his daughter (Seyfried) on his own and how their relationship changes as she becomes an adult.

The story revolves around four dweeby former champion arcade gamers who are called into action to save the world when aliens attack using ’80s video game characters on an epic scale. Jennifer Aniston is also being considered for the role of Sandler’s love interest.
