Season 2 episode 14 of BATB continued to explore the Vincent / Cat dynamic, as ever. They teamed up to work together to investigate why people connected to Gabe are missing. Vincent continues to have strong feelings about Cat as evidenced by his dreams. Cat is on vacation with Gabe as a holdover from last episode. Even while in romantic Cancun cat called Gabe “Vincent.” It’s clear they’re on each other’s minds.

Back at Gabe’s “funeral” Tess isn’t quite sad. Cat eventually tells Gabe that not many people showed up at all. Way harsh. Gabe goes to track Sam and tells Vincent to watch over Cat. Cat and Vincent hit a little bit of turbulence when Cat gets upset that Vincent didn’t work all the angles to get them in to see Jacob Sutter at the hospital. Speaking of Sutter, Sam keeps on finding and injecting the various Jacobs. Meanwhile, Vincent breaks into the quarantine by dressing up as a doctor. Cat goes to see her dad. He tells her that beasts will consume her until she kills them al, including Vincent. Sam manages to track down the right Jacob and turn him into a beast.

Gabe can’t help Cat since he runs the risk of turning back into a beast. It comes to light that JT in fact made the serum Sam is using. The new beast attacks Vincent, although doesn’t kill him. Gabe manages to figure out that Sam and Tony Barnes are one and the same. Gabe is shot with a dart when Cat walks in on Sam, Jacob and Gabe. Cat shoots the new beast.

Meanwhile, Gabe and Cat talk about their relationship with respect to Vincent. Elsewhere, Sam has recruited a new orphan. Cat goes to tell Vincent that she can’t see or talk to him anymore. They get into a physical entanglement and she pushes him. He hits his head on the kitchen island and DIES. Cat then wakes up – it was a dream, but clearly Vincent’s still on her mind.
